Good earth. We are homeschooling with Classical Conversations over on the west side of Michigan, and it’s working beautifully for us. That said, even all 4 grandparents, who are very supportive, don’t really grasp what we’re trying to do here. They seem uncertain about a 5 year old boy who knows more about world geography and US presidents than they do, while knowing almost nothing of, say, Paw Patrol or Disney. I suppose in time the fruits will be more than evident, and we just have to hang tight until then. 🙂
Where I thought you were going, had an amusing interaction with an 8th grade girl last year who had no idea there had been this thing called the "Korean War". Bet she could tell you all about the Punic Wars though. (We, uh, we should teach her a little bit about the Korean War. But that did amuse me.)
I didn't want to trust my memory but yes, my impression was that once upon a time Axios was respected as a news source that gave you short, but reliable and pretty objective summaries. It seems to have gone from reliable and objective -> partisan hacks quite rapidly.

I love it!
I am sorry for reposting my own stuff, but here is some additional information on Florida's effort: https://heapcoup.substack.com/p/classical-educations-big-win-in-florida/comments
Thank you, David. Axios can be very careless. One has to wonder if they have a copy editor over there.
Please share away! Network effects and all that good stuff, thanks.
Newton's 1st Law is geometry. Newton's 2nd Law is astronomy. ;-)
And geometry becomes astronomy under the appropriate Galilean frame transformation!
Womp womp.
Isn't Axios's premise that it's essentially Twitter, but for people who want to read a little bit more?
I imagine the site's writers don't write anything longer than 500 words.
