One of the reasons I am in favor of political and charitable donations (particularly from individuals) being as anonymous as the donator wishes them to be is because a fair number of people in our day see “list of people who donated to cause or candidate I do not like” as “list of people whose life I should make every possible effort to destroy”.
"So, as just about every critical post I write seems to end - people have forgotten God, that is why all this has happened."
Yes. I recently read through the Book of Judges. We read that and we think that it happened so many thousand years ago. But, why should we assume that an analogous process isn't happening in the age of The Church? Your statement above is correct but I think it's very likely that it is the People of God who have forgotten God, and that what is happening now is a judgment upon His people.
Rather than thinking about what needs to happen in order to get back to "normal", maybe we should be thinking about how we need to repent.
If rebuilding society and trust in other people is the task here, then I believe we need to see this as a missionary project, which likely will take a long time.
If you want to learn what the blueprint to these tactics came from, read up on how the Sturmabteilung and the Freikorps operated in Germany before Hitler was elected by a minority.
Because what you are seeing in Canada right now follows it to the letter.
So true, David. I’ve often said the more we allow our sinful man to reign, the less freedom we have. This is true spiritually and in the physical realm. We keep enacting one law after the other to try and rein that man in. It’s a very sad state of affairs to see hate propagated from so many of the MSM’s personalities.
Yeah, Jon Ronson talks about this idea in his book "So You've Been Publicly Shamed." Maybe it seems inconceivable to people that by sending or retweeting a mean tweet they can ruin someone, but it's actually true. That's not of course to say that every mean tweet ruins someone's life, but it's certainly happened more than once.
It's unbelievable that the journalists could be so disingenuous. We'd all seen the heartwarming videos of Canadians coming out and waving and what not for the truckers, so it's despicable for Alison Mah to depict the gelato owner as being "out of touch" for not realizing the convoy was a "hate filled mob."
"...people have forgotten God, that is why all this happened."
Agree 100%. And that's why I'm a bit pessimistic moving forward. Watching how easily politicians and the MSM manipulated many into viewing fellow human beings as filthy, contemptible people for refusing the jab has been unsettling.

I agree the evil is the worst aspect of all this to deal with. Completely destroyed my rose coloured glasses
